| Behind every inspiring and dynamic pageant is an inspiring and dynamic director: |
 Ms. Angel Coleman is a Miami, FL native where she works as a freelance fashion designer, a model and actress. Ms. Coleman is a former beauty queen and an ardent promoter of women. She is ambitious, innovative, and decisive.
Ms. Coleman was awarded the opportunity to direct the Miss Black Florida USA and Miss Black Florida USA Talented Teen Pageants. She desired to bring to women of color an opportunity to participate in a pageant that is prestigious, a pageant they can be proud of, simply, a pageant of their own. She strongly believes that the Miss Black Florida USA and Miss Black Florida USA Talented Teen pageants will help promote personal, professional, and academic growth.
Ms. Coleman is an honors graduate from the Miami International University of Art & Design, with an Associate Art degree in Fashion Design. During her tenure, she studied fashion design and fashion merchandising. Upon graduation, she received the MIU 2004 Commencement Community Service Award for the devotion and enthusiasm she expressed toward her school and not-for-profit organizations.
Ms. Coleman has devoted much of her life to showcasing the unique qualities of women. She helps promote academic excellence, leadership skills, and community service involvement amongst women. Furthermore, as a community activist, she has participated in such activities as the Candy Bowl with Win For Kids, the American Red Cross, the Fort Lauderdale Aids Walk and Hands On Miami.
She has over 10 years of pageant experience, both on stage and behind the scenes. As a former beauty queen she knows how the participants feel, and she knows what they expect to see and experience at a pageant. As a pageant judge and coach she knows what qualities a contestant and titleholder must encompass. Her familiarity with all the aspects of pageantry will allow her to direct this pageant with fairness, confidence, and proficiency.
"Working together to help others" is the phrase that Ms. Coleman lives by. She believes that benevolent, extraordinary, and powerful women can be found in all cultures.
