Jennifer Ubeira

Jennifer Ubiera has risen from trying circumstances to starring in her very own dream come true. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Jennifer is the eldest of five children who speaks both Spanish and English. The support of her large Jamaican and Dominican family has always been a driving force in her life and is what has gotten her to where she is today. Growing up in the overpopulated Miami-Dade County Public School system provided challenges to what she set as one of her very first goals in life: to become a lawyer.

The development of her goals were developed full force during her undergraduate years at the University of South Florida in Tampa. As the President of the Black Student Union, an Ambassador of the University, a coordinator on the Volunteer USF Leadership Board and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, she was exposed to many opportunities to serve her world community. Her dedication to service-learning brought her from NY to Mississippi, amongst other places, to get involved with various issues. After working hands-on with community agencies, her desire to fight for social and economic justice is burgeoning.

Since her graduation from USF with a B.A. in Philosophy, Ms. Ubiera fervently pursues a profession in law. She also has had a lifelong interest in the arts through the form of dance, spoken word and acting. As an Americorps National Service teacher, she choreographed a middle school dance team of young ladies in her year of service. As a film lover, she hopes to use her passion for acting to create films that bring awareness and possible solutions to issues facing urban families and their communities. Currently, Jennifer Ubiera serves as a Guardian ad Litem for the 13th judicial court system in Miami-Dade County. Jennifer has recently been accepted into law school where she will specialize in Child Advocacy, Immigration and International Human Rights.
